For the eighth year running, the Bahrain International Garden Show (BIGS) takes place once again from 15 to 18 January 2012 at the Bahrain International Convention & Exhibition Centre. This much-awaited annual garden show will be held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain and the support of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of the King of Bahrain.
What distinguishes this year’s show is the National Initiative for Agricultural Development launched by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al-Khalifa in March 2010, with the aim of unifying all efforts to enhance the agricultural industry in Bahrain. The Bahrain International Garden Show is now an annual event under this ambitious initiative that will undoubtedly boost the sector and make it a viable career choice for the future workforce.
This year, the Bahrain International Garden Show will carry a strong message to promote sustainable agricultural practices. This critical world issue will be highlighted in a comprehensive display showing the different roles that individuals, companies and policy makers can play in ensuring the best utilization of precious resources and a better future for the generations to come.
